Enjoy cocktails while you create your own art piece guided by an experienced artist! We host painting events at our BYOB art studio at 75 East Court St, Cortland NY or we can bring the party to you around Central New York with a mobile event!

Instant Artist is a paint and sip experience serving the Cortland and Ithaca surrounding areas. We have a studio in Cortland where you can sign up for a class and BYOB. We also are a traveling painting studio and can set up private events in local bars, restaurants, lodges and we can even set up in your HOME.

We provide all necessary materials and step by step instruction for you to create a specific painting project that you take home at the end of the event…. and all while sipping on your favorite beverage.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY… events are taught with first time painters in mind. Paintings events usually last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

What better way to celebrate a birthday, bachelorette party, bridal shower, baby shower, girls night out, children’s party, fundraisers, corporate team building, or family reunions, then painting socially with your friends!

Meet the Artists

Melissa Guyette is the owner and founder behind Instant Artist. Originally from Homer, NY, Melissa has spent the last 15 years painting pet portrait commissions in Dallas, TX but had been longing to get out of the studio and back to her roots. In June of 2014, she moved back to Central New York to bring the fun, playful paint and sip event concept to her hometown area. She’s excited to help support other local business owners with mobile events, non-profits for fundraising, and bringing a fun creative flair into the lives of her fellow Central New Yorkers.

Leddy Sullivan, a native upstate New Yorker, studied Fine Art/Art History at the Lesley College of Art and Design in the Boston area. Leddy has loved art all her life and enjoys mixing the abstract with the realistic within her own paintings. Working mostly in oil and acrylic paint, Leddy draws inspiration from the abundance of nature we have within our area. With her Master’s degree in education, Leddy loves teaching all ages and is the art teacher in a Syracuse elementary school. She believes that art is for everyone, it is more about the process of creating than the destination of the final piece!

Becky Glover was born and raised in Cortland, New York. She has always had a love for art and crafting since she was in grade school. She gained all her interest from her mother while watching her prep projects and lesson plans for an afterschool program. During highschool her passion grew stronger as she learned new techniques in class, and helped start the first Art Club in McGraw. Within the past few years she has attended about 30 different paint classes here at Instant artist and other Paint and Sip franchises and has always dreamed about standing at the easel in front of the class teaching. She truly believes that anyone can become an “Instant Artist”!

Erin Potter is a self-taught artist from Binghamton, NY working mainly with acrylic paint and photography. As an avid hiker and traveler, she gains inspiration from nature as well as the beautiful places and people of the world. Besides art, Erin has many interests including yoga, animals, education, and science. She received her Bachelors in Meteorology from SUNY Oneonta, attended University of Delaware for graduate school but currently finishing her Masters in Geosciences online through Mississippi State. Many of her paintings involve elements from what she has learned about the natural world. Her goal is to gain exposure for her art, while also supporting other local artists.

Stacey Goldyn graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a BA in Fine Art/Art History and from University of Oregon with an MS in Arts Administration. Her artistic foci have always been painting and textile design, with intensive work in Oil Portraiture and Garment Construction. While Stacey’s early career has been filled with non-profit and higher education work, her passion and current employ encompasses all things art and sewing related. Now the owner of Magpie Custom Creations in Cortland, Stacey enjoys teaching and sewing for the local community, and maintains clients all over the USA. She is thrilled to join the Instant Artist family as a back-up instructor, returning to her first love- and the ultimate relaxation- of painting, in support of another fine Cortland Corset Building studio. You can find Stacey on Facebook at MagpieCortland, or visit her website at www.magpiecortland.com.
